Career Teachers has an exciting opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants to work 8.00-4.00pm Monday to Friday either on a 12 week contract with the potential of securing a permanent role or on a direct permanent basis.
The pay will be from £75 per day on contract or £18,000-£19,000 salary.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting learners in Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
You will be working in a specialist SEMH school in Stockport where you will be working alongside the class teacher as well as other teaching assistants in a small class with 8 children. The children within the class can show challenging behavior, your role will be to help implement behavior strategies set by their individual EHCP's whilst providing both academic and nurturing support.
As a successful Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Have experience of supporting children or adults with SEMH
- Be able to adapt and respond appropriately to challenging situations
- Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team
- Be someone who is enthusiastic and motivated to challenge, inspire and motivate students
- Be open to new ideas
- Be able to build positive relationships with the class group, ensuring consistency and continuity on a daily basis
This position is specifically for a candidate that has experience working as a teaching assistant, support worker, residential worker, youth worker or sports coach.
