Speech and Language Therapist- Band 5/6- South London

Part-time- 14 hours per week

Are you a speech and language therapist, interested in working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition/ Disorder (ASC/ASD) and associated conditions such as Speech and Language Needs? You may be experienced or beginning your career. A specialist Special Needs school for children aged 4-19 in South London is looking for a speech therapist/speech and language therapist to support their students to begin as soon as possible.

The school is a large all-through school which caters to students with Autism, including Asperger's Syndrome. Students hold additional diagnoses such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). The school is well resourced and excellent support is in place for both staff and students, as well as excellent CPD opportunities.

You will be working within the school Curriculum Access Team (CA) made up of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour support specialists and assistant psychologists.

  • £24,214- £36,276 per annum (Pro-rata)
  • AWR compliant rates of pay

Requirements

  • Immediate right to work in the UK
  • Registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and RCSLT
  • A patient and understanding approach
  • A flexible approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Existing DBS check on the update service

Responsibilities

  • Develop and run all relevant Speech and Language sessions for relevant pupils
  • Be aware of, and remain responsible for all safeguarding of pupils within your care
  • Work collaboratively with both teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for students
  • Foster independence in students and promote wellbeing and good welfare
