Career Teachers are currently working with a vibrant primary special school in the L9 area of Liverpool, who are looking to recruit a SEND Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis, with the view to going permanent for the right Teacher.

This SEND primary and EYFS school is well resourced and has a fantastic atmosphere upon entering. It has a lovely ethos, and all the children and staff are happy and secure, on beautiful grounds.

The suitable candidate will be teaching children aged 5 to 11 years and must be prepared to dip in and out of various classes as and when needed, either in small groups or as whole classes. For this role, you will be expected to provide support, both in and out of class due to the nature of the children's needs.

A passion for working with special needs is essential for this role and the right candidate will be an inventive and positive Teacher who has a proactive mind and the desire to go above and beyond their duties.

The school are keen to speak to Teachers who are particularly interested in getting involved with curriculum planning and implementing, and who are ready to take then next step in responsibilities within SEND Teaching.

An essential skill for this role is the ability to build positive relationships that help to break down barriers, build self-esteem and challenge disaffection. You must also understand working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities and have a real desire to make a difference.

This role is due to start on 9th May, and hours are Monday to Friday, 8.15am-4.15pm a daily rate of between £120-£160 is on offer for this role DoE.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • QTS
  • Experience and understanding of teaching SEND
  • Be willing to partake in CPD to upskill
  • Have working knowledge of the primary & EYFS curriculum
  • Commitment to work full time Monday to Friday
  • Have a calm, patient attitude while building trusting relationships
  • Have a DBS on the update service
