We are currently working with an outstanding primary SEND school in the WN8 area of Lancashire who are looking for a long-term, full-time Teaching Assistant to support children in their setting on the ASD pathway. The school in Skelmersdale, Lancashire is in a lovely environment, and the staff are very supportive and encourage a real community spirit within the school.
The children need support in the classroom, and it will be vital that you can liaise with the teacher and other members of staff to ensure a network of support is in place for the pupils. Some support during breaks and lunch may also be needed so flexibility is key.
An element of personal care will be involved in this role, and it would be an advantage (not essential) to have experience or knowledge of speech and language interventions.
The start date for this role is September 5th 2022, and working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Experience and/or knowledge of Autism (ASD)
- A calm but firm attitude and a positive approach
- Flexibility to move between classes
- Experience supporting children from aged 5-11 years
- Willing to carry out personal care if needed
- Good communication skills
This is a long-term, full-time role with the potential to go permanent after a qualifying period. In addition to this, there is a competitive daily rate on offer.
