Career Teachers are supporting a residential special school for young people aged from 5-19 with Special Educational Needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech & Language Disorders, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), communication needs, therapeutic needs (including speech and language and sensory processing needs), and associated challenging behaviour. They wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible, on a permanent basis.

The school benefits from a creative and bespoke curriculum, a working onsite farm, small class sizes, and a multi-disciplinary approach (including a therapy team). It also relies upon a group of highly skilled teaching assistants that bring ideas, new activities and enthusiasm into the classroom, whilst working alongside a range of other professionals.

To be considered for an opportunity at this provision, you will have experience working as a Teaching Assistant and ideally have some experience working, volunteering, caring or living with a child or young person who has learning difficulties and/or social, emotional, and mental health needs.

The hours of work are Mon- Thurs: 8.15 am- 4.15 pm and Friday 8:15am - 3:00pm.
