My client based in Westminster is looking for an experienced, SEN Teacher to take up a position starting immediately.

SEN Teacher - Westminster - SEN

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Teacher in a classroom that will host students with a variety of SEN needs. You will be in a small classroom setting, supported by experienced SEN TA's who have worked with the students previously, and will be able to give insight and guidance where necessary.
  • Teaching SEN students with severe learning difficulties or complex needs.
  • The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners
  • A clear understanding of TEACCH practices and ABA techniques
  • Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton
  • A creative approach to lesson planning
  • A patient, calm and engaging classroom manner
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
  • Full teacher status
  • Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application.
