At Career Teachers we are working in partnership with a welcoming Specialist Setting in Leeds, who have requirements for additional teaching assistants to join their successful team from September. The school caters for students who have various different educational and physical needs, therefore the ideal candidate will be nurturing and adaptable, able to use the resources available to make sure that each student receives equal opportunities for development. The school is spread across 3 sites, all of which are easily accessible by public transport and do have staff parking.

Role Specifics:

  • You will be working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEND)
  • The school caters for students from Early Years to 19 years old
  • These are full time roles due to begin this September and be for the whole academic year with the view of a permanent contract for those seeking permanent employment
  • Your working hours will be 8:30-15:30
  • Pay is weekly and is paid between £350 and £400 per week (PAYE)

Role Requirements:

  • We are looking for people who are dedicated and have a passion for helping
  • You must be confident in managing challenging behaviours
  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs whether in an educational or residential setting is essential.
  • Knowledge of autism and a deeper understanding of learning difficulties is also essential
  • Relevant qualifications would be advantageous but some training can be provided
