Are you a qualified teaching assistant? Do you enjoy supporting KS2?

Career Teachers are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in one of our primary schools in Small Heath. It is essential that you have experience within SEN / behaviour challenges and are comfortable supporting pupils through 1:1s and intervention group work.

The pupil has autistic needs, so will need support with building a strong friendship and engagement within class. They will have a nominated EHCP plan and SENCO lead and/or SEN TA appointed to the pupil. This means the role will require a high level of support and positive reinforcement to help the pupil gain confidence to reunite with their peers.

The role will be a full-time role and will starting immediately until July 2022. The ideal candidate must have the following key attributes:

  • A current enhanced DBS that is on the update service (or be happy to obtain a new through Career Teachers).
  • Recent experience in the U.K. supporting in a Primary School
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Strong behaviour management
  • Ability to keep pupils engaged whilst supporting with learning pathways
  • Hold a level 2 or Level 3 supporting qualification within Childhood studies
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
