As they continue to expand and enhance their offerings, they are seeking a talented and experienced Curriculum Manager for our Electrical Installation department.

Role Overview:

As the new permanent Curriculum Manager for Electrical Installation, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our vocational programs in this field. You will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the curriculum, ensuring it aligns with industry standards and meets the needs of our students and employers.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation or a related field. Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, DET or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Substantial experience in curriculum development and management, preferably within the field of Electrical Installation.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and practices in Electrical Installation.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
  • Experience in engaging with employers and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Leadership:

Lead the design, development, and review of the Electrical Installation curriculum, ensuring its relevance, accuracy, and alignment with industry trends and standards. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning within the department.

Program Management:

Manage the delivery of all Electrical Installation courses, monitoring student progress and ensuring a high level of student engagement and achievement. Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure effective lesson planning, assessment strategies, and feedback mechanisms.

Industry Engagement:

Foster strong relationships with local employers, industry professionals, and relevant external organizations to ensure the curriculum remains current and meets industry demands. Explore opportunities for work placements, industry projects, and guest speakers to enhance students' practical experience.

Staff Development:

Provide leadership and support to teaching staff within the department, including mentoring, training, and performance management. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation among the teaching team.

Quality Assurance:

Lead internal quality assurance processes, ensuring adherence to academic standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies. Contribute to external audits and assessments as necessary.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyse data related to student performance, progression, and feedback to inform curriculum development and improvement strategies. Prepare regular reports for senior management regarding the department's performance and initiatives.
