This school caters for pupils aged 11 to 18 years and is part of a multi-academy trust of secondary schools and primary schools. They provide quality teaching to children in the local area, producing exceptional results at GCSE and A-level. The head of the school is looking for an experienced Science technician with tenacity to join a diverse team of friendly teachers. The successful candidate will have experience working as a School Science Technician with the ability to cover all Science fields. You will be working as part of a team and report to the head of the Science department. It is essential that you have relevant science technician experience.

Person Specification - Science Technician - Southwark, London

The successful applicant will have;

  • Experience of working in an inner-city environment
  • Be able to support both candidates and science teachers throughout the day
  • Be able to take a proactive approach to work
  • Be Organised and knowledgeable of the relevant health and safety regulations

Successful Applicants will be subject to references and a children's workforce DBS check (registered on the update service) or be willing to apply for a new DBS.

About the Role - Science Technician - Southwark, London

The successful candidate will be employed as a Science Technician, assisting with classes in KS3 and KS4. As a Science Technician you will be required to support the science department with teaching pupils working towards GCSEs. This is a full time, long term Science Technician role with competitive rates of pay up, dependent on experience.

  • You will be setting up and using the equipment accurately and safely
  • You will manage the stock control of chemicals and equipment
  • You will ensure that equipment is properly cleaned and that chemicals and other materials are appropriately stored
