Career Teachers are looking for an experienced KS1 Teacher for a maternity cover position starting in January 2020, within the London Borough of Merton.

The position will be based within a Year 2 class, at this 2 form entry Primary School. You will be working alongside an experienced and long standing Teacher as your year group partner. The school have worked hard to foster an environment where team work is highly valued. Therefore, you will work very closely with the parallel Year 2 Teacher.

The current Class Teacher is departing for maternity leave in January 2020. The position is, therefore, available to start on 6th January 2020. However, the school would like for a handover day to be completed in December to ensure a smooth transition.


  • An experienced Primary Teacher
  • Excellent knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
  • Prior experience of the Year 2 SATs (preferred but not essential)
  • A team player with strong communication skills
  • Able to commit on a full time basis, from January to July 2020

Based within the Mitcham area of Merton, the school has excellent transport links and also benefits from a staff car park.

Pay for this position will be up to £227 per day, depending on your experience.
