We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to cover a 1 year maternity leave contract with a Primary School in Sutton. The position will be based within the Reception class.
You will be working closely with the Class Teacher, supporting the class with their learning and working with children on a 1:1 basis. There may also be occasions where you are required to cover the class for short periods of the day, so experience of covering classes will be an advantage.
The school have worked hard to develop a happy and supportive working environment. There are lots of children within the Reception class who have EAL, so language skills are very important within this role. There is a strong focus on developing the language skills in Reception, in preparation for their transition to Year 1.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
- A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum
- Flexible and willing to work elsewhere within the school (including the SEN unity) as required
- Experience of supporting children who has ASD and speech & language needs
We are looking for someone with lots of enthusiasm and energy, who is genuinely interested in making a positive contribution to the lives and learning of the children.
Pay for this position will be between £65 and £85 per day, depending on your experience. The position is available to start on 6th January 2020, and the maternity cover will last for 1 year. There may be opportunities to stay with the school beyond this time.
