We are looking for an experienced and talented Learning Support Assistant to work with a Primary School in Merton.
You will be supporting a child within a Year 3 class, who has ASD and at times, displays challenging behaviour. You will support the child on a 1:1 basis, in the classroom, the playground and on school outings. In addition, you may be required to provide general support to the class at times.
- An experienced Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant
- Knowledge and experience of working with Autism
- Excellent communication skills in order to liaise effectively with the child, the Class Teacher and the parents
- A strong academic background, with good skills in Maths and English
- A positive role model
- The ability to be flexible with changing priorities throughout the day
The position is available for an ASAP start, however, they are prepared to wait until after the October half term, for the right person. The position will then continue on an ongoing basis, until July 2020. There may then be scope for you to move up to Year 4 with the child.
The school is based close to the Wimbledon area of Merton. There are excellent transport links available and staff parking can also be arranged.
