A vacancy has arisen for a special needs Teaching Assistant to work in a SEND school in Liverpool, L25 area. This role is full time and has a September 2022 start date.
The post will include supporting in a class of 7-10 children all with various needs such as ASD and LD. The children range from age 8-11yrs, and you will be required to work under the direction of the class teacher.
The children of this wonderful school, work to personalised curriculum's and education care plans. The pupil's needs are complex and some need support with communication, sensory, interactions, and social.
As this is a SEND role there may be an element of personal care so experience in this area would be advantageous.
The post is full time from 8.30 - 3.30pm and is long term, for a full academic year.
Working in a similar environment would be an advantage, but previous experience supporting children with special needs is essential. The role requires some flexibility as you may be asked to move around to different classes to support other needs.
I would be particularly interested to speak to people with ASD/PMLD/Challenging Behaviour, and/or Personal Care experience.
