Are you an NQT or an experienced Science teacher looking for a new position for April?

Would you like to work in a good school which has been identified as having outstanding leadership and management and provides outstanding education for all of their pupils?

A school in Brentwood are working with Career Teachers to recruit a Teacher of Science to start in April 2020, teaching KS3-5. The school require a specialist in Biology, due to the requirement to teach Biology at GCSE, A-level and International Baccalaureate. However, previous experience of teaching at sixth-form level is not essential. This is a permanent role and would be suitable for an experienced teacher looking to work in a progressive, forward-thinking school, or an NQT looking to work in a supportive department.

The school's published results at GCSE and A-level are impressive, with 95% of students achieving GCSE 9 - 4 , 48% A Level A*-B, and 73% IBH 5+ and 86% IBS 5+.

CPD is well-planned, with personalized elements to support teachers at different stages of their career.

You will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), after completing a PGCE, Graduate Teaching Program (GTP), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), QTLS or equivalent overseas teaching qualification
  • Have prior experience of teaching Science across at least KS3 and KS4, with the ability to specialize in Biology
  • Be passionate about your subject and be able to enthuse pupils through stimulating and interactive lessons
  • Have a dedicated and creative approach when planning lessons and delivering learning activities
  • Differentiate effectively, ensuring that the needs of all learners are met, including those pupils on the EAL and SEN registers
  • Promote positive behaviour and use a range of behaviour management strategies effectively
  • Have a positive work ethic, demonstrating a commitment to your own development and a willingness to share good practice
  • Create a fun, safe and inspiring learning environment, set high expectations of achievement and support pupils to reach their full potential
