Teaching Assistant

Are you a Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity.

Career Teachers are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant (TA) to support a year 1 child with autism with speech and language difficulties. This is a small welcoming mainstream school with accessible public transport, located in Wirral. As a TA you will be taking guidance from the class teacher and supporting the individual child on a one-to-one basis with literacy, numeracy, and skills. Experience of Autism is essential with the ability to use de-escalation techniques when required.

Starts January until July 2024, hours are full-time, Monday to Friday 8:45am-15:10pm

Requirements:

• Experience working with children at Primary ages.
• Knowledge and experience of Autism.
• Basic Makaton skills would be an advantage but not essential.
• Be fully dedicated to the role and have a can-do attitude.
• Be genuinely committed to enhancing the educational and personal development of the child you are supporting.
• Hold an enhance DBS or willing to apply for one through Career Teachers.
