Pastoral Support Assistant

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to work with children with mental health difficulties.

Career Teachers are currently recruiting for a Pastoral Support Assistant to work in a primary alternative provision school located in Wirral. As a teaching assistant you will be supporting individuals on a one-to-one basis, with literacy, numeracy, and skills. Alternative provisions settings are for children who can't go to mainstream school, this is usually because their behaviour has become unmanageable, and could be due to mental health, trauma, bullying or other difficulties. Applicants will therefore need to be resilient with the ability to de-escalate any behavioural situations which may arise. This provision has a team of passionate and hard-working staff who are dedicated to ensure pupils make good progress with the aim of them returning to mainstream education.

Starts November on a long-term basis, hours are full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am-15:30pm

  • Experience working with children or young people (min of 3 months)
