A large special (SEND) school in Hackney is currently seeking a primary learning support assistant for a 1:1 role in a year 3 class.

Working within a small class of students with severe learning disabilities, you will be supporting a male student with profound autism. While he is non-verbal, he loves his football - so if you're into sport and have a real passion for supporting students with special needs, this could be your perfect role!

The ideal candidate will be an experienced TA who is used to managing challenging physical behaviours and who has some knowledge of non-verbal communication systems (Makaton, PECS). Team Teach training, or a willingness to complete the training, would also be invaluable. Acting as both an academic and a pastoral support worker, they will also need to possess resilience, compassion and a good sense of humour so that they can help this little boy to really make the most of his time in school.

If you would like to arrange a trial, please send your CV over today.

At Career Teachers we are fully compliant with Agency Worker Regulations, ensuring you receive equal treatment for pay and conditions after a 12 week qualifying period. Please ask for further details.
