My client is a small independent primary provision that, as part of a charity, works collaboratively with communities to enable children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs to unlock their full potential. Staffed by a dedicated specialist team of teachers, support assistants and therapists, they are committed to transforming life chances for children, ensuring that they have opportunities to thrive by developing personalised, dynamic support for each learner enabling them to grow in their own unique way.

The role

The school are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide exceptional learning and behavioural support, working alongside teachers, therapists, and parents to help our children excel in their learning and personal development.

You will have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, be resilient in working with children with SEMH needs, and be passionate about helping children to achieve their full potential.

The person

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Good standard of education, including a GCSE (or equivalent) in English & Maths

  • Experience of working with children in an education/school setting, ideally with students with additional needs (SEN)

  • Ability to use a range of strategies to support learning, behaviour and personal development according to the children's needs

  • Confident to work with culturally diverse families and communities, able to quickly establish effective relationships with children, colleagues, parents, carers and families

  • Ability to work effectively with children, responding with patience, kindness and empathy at all times

  • Ability to use own initiative and be proactive

  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively and professionally, inspiring confidence and respect within the school team.
