A welcoming special (SEND) school in Barking is currently seeking two teaching assistants to join their current primary contingent.

This friendly and supportive school is a medium-size and growing provision for students aged 5-16 with severe and profound needs. Using a holistic approach, they aim to enable every child to reach their full potential via a range of bespoke pathways that include both therapeutic and academic strategies for development.

The roles available are both offered within primary classes: one in an autism-specific class in year 4, and one in an SLD class in year 6. Both classes are working at pre-primary levels, but are vibrant, lively young people who are making good progress. While the current projected start date is September 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak, should the school be able to reopen at capacity in the interim, that will be brought forward.

The ideal candidate will be:

- Reliable and committed;

- Experienced in behaviour management;

- Team Teach trained, or willing to take the course;

- Empathetic and able to build positive relationships with staff and students alike.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure your ongoing career in SEND as we move forward in 2020 - please get in touch today to find out more!
