A nurturing and supportive special needs (SEND) school in Uxbridge is seeking an occupational therapist to join their existing therapy team in September 2020.
Located just next to Hillingdon Hospital, the school is a well-respected provision for students aged from 11 to 19 who have a wide range of moderate to severe special needs. They are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who has experience of working with children and adolescents with similar needs profiles, which include autistic spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, and respiratory, neurological and neuromuscular pathologies.
As part of the therapy team you will be responsible for integrating clinical intervention across all aspects of the educational curriculum to ensure that pupils are able to readily access and engage in learning. Supported by the therapy team lead and by senior clinicians across the therapy disciplines, you will need to be a strong team player, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues, teaching staff and students alike.
This post provides many exciting opportunities including assessment, group work, one to one therapy and class-based interventions, working in collaboration with teaching staff, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and rehabilitation assistants. Set within a growing school that is about to embark on a major facilities development program, it is an exceptional opportunity to develop your career within a stable environment that will grow with you as you extend your experience.
