The school:

I am currently working with a 2 form entry school based in Finchley, Barnet, who are looking for a part time intervention teacher to join their team for the summer term. The school is located close to Finchley Central, and have an established KS2 department who are supportive and bring a team atmosphere to the school; which has been integral in their low staff turnover. The schools ethos promotes students being passionate about their learning and encourages them to learn skills that will set them up for their next step into secondary school and for life.

The role:

The role is part time working half days across the week. You will be planning and delivering interventions to small groups of children across both Year 5 and 6 who have fallen behind in their Maths and English due to the pandemic. As well we working collaboratively with class teachers to look at which students have fallen behind and what is required to help them reach their expected grades.


You must be a fully qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent and have a proven ability to increase attainment across English and Maths. You must be able to commit to working at the school for the full summer term working part days Monday to Friday.

  • PGCE with QTS or equivalent qualification
  • Proven track record for increasing attainment across KS2
  • Ability to plan and deliver inspiring intervention sessions to small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • A diverse range of positive behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to engage students that are disengaged from education
