The school:

A 2 form entry Primary School based in Barnet are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant with a background in behaviour or social emotional mental health needs support to work 1:1 with a student in KS2 who requires additional support throughout their school day. The school is ideally looking for someone who has had experience in a Primary School, care or childcare setting, who is able to quickly develop relationships and who has a proven track record in creating structured education and personal development activities.

The role:

Your role will be to support a student with behavioural needs working with them on a 1:1 basis and supporting thier development with groups of other students in class. The school are looking for someone who can use their experience and passion for creativity to help spark students interests, develop positive behaviour techniques and support with emotional development. You will be working across the Primary School working closely with the classroom teachers to develop action plans and look at behaviour development for individual students.

Requirements for the role, Behaviour Mentor-Barnet

  • Bachelor Degree, Teaching Assistant qualification or a minimum of 1 years experience
  • Proven experience of working with children in a school, youth or coaching environment
  • A diverse range of positive behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to engage students that are disengaged from education
  • Excellent phonics knowledge
