Career Teachers work in close partnership with an exceptional Autism Resource in the Wakefield area that are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and engaging Teacher or Senior HLTA to support the pupils and staff within the resource.

The Autism Resource is a purpose developed provision which currently takes pupils between the ages of 4 and 20 years and is part of an independent mainstream school. Pupils within Autism Resource are typically placed by their Local Authority and will have an EHCP. Whilst currently our age range is primarily secondary, we are able to support at all Key Stages. Pupils are supported 1-1 either into mainstream lessons, within small groups at Autism Resource, or with intervention work in their own space.

The school has superb reputation locally and nationally and is set in magnificent grounds, boasts exceptional resources including swimming pool, expansive rural grounds and access to ASD specific support resources for its pupils.

The ideal candidate will be either a qualified Teacher, experienced TA / HLTA or NQT/ECT that has relevant experience in an SEND Setting either as part of a mainstream school or as an independent setting. Successful candidates will have a great opportunity to apply for the role permanently and work directly with the school from the new Academic year.

Career Teachers also offer an extensive and subsidised CPD suite available for all successful applicants that is tailored to help successfully work in the Autism Resource. We welcome all applicants with the relevant experience and all unsuccessful applicants will have the opportunity to discuss other similar vacancies at this and other suitable settings.

At Career Teachers we are fully compliant with Agency Worker Regulations, ensuring you receive equal treatment for pay and conditions after a 12 week qualifying period. Please ask for further details.
