SEND Teaching Assistant

Career Teachers are seeking SEND Teaching Assistants for an immediate start. The Alternative Provision is located in Shirebrook within acres of woodland. It is based within a farm park that is home to many farming animals. The school focuses on animal care therefore you will be outside in all weather conditions. This must be something that you are comfortable with. The school offers a balance of therapeutic and academic sessions to give learners a balance to the day.
As a Teaching Assistant you will work on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with children and young people aged 7-18 years old. The pupils within this setting have a wide range of complex needs in education along side SEMH. The class sizes are on a 5:1 ratio. You will support the class teacher to ensure the pupil you are supporting achieves the best possible outcomes for their learning.
Paying £76 to £90 per day depending on experience. You will work full time Monday to Friday. This role is challenging yet rewarding for the right individual.
Requirements of the role:
- Level 3 qualified
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or able to apply for one through Career Teachers
- Be calm and patient in your approach
- Have teaching assistant experience
- Have a genuine interest working with Special Educational Needs
