Career Teachers are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately working for an Alternative Provision School in Shirebrook. You will work Monday to Friday 08:30 -16:00 term time only. Depending on your experience you will be paid £76-£90 per day.

Your role as a Teaching Assistant will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supporting KS2 & KS3 pupils with their core academics
  • Be inspiring and engaging for all pupils
  • Help develop pupils behaviours, skills and knowledge
  • Supporting pupils long-term goals and aspirations
  • Support the delivery of the national curriculum (EYFS - KS3)
  • Manage pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis

Requirements of the role:

  • A current DBS on the update service or able to apply for one through Career Teachers
  • Minimum of Level 3 qualification in education of children or equivalent
  • Experience working with Special Educational Needs
  • Able to deliver training
  • Comfortable working with animals as the school is based on a farm
  • Be calm and patient in your approach

This Alternative Learning Provision is based on 11 acres of farm, this allows the pupils to engage and control behaviours when focused on something they are interested in. Due to this special school being based around an outdoor learning approach you must be physically able to undertake the role.
