Your role as a HLTA is to encourage and support pupils with their learning in ways their meet their individual needs. You will deliver creative ways to keep the students focused and educated in ways they find best to learn. Your day may be with the same students for the full day or split into two parts with different pupils. After each session with your pupil you are required to complete a write up on how you feel it has gone and their progress.

This provision caters for children and young people ages 5 to 19 years old. You will be working Monday to Friday 09:00 to 15:00. You will either work from the pupils home, the provision or within the community. Due to this a requirement of the role is that you hold a Full UK Driving Licence and have access to your own transport. You will be collecting pupils from their home address to take them into the setting and dropping them back home.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 4 HLTA qualification
  • Have a minimum 3 years experience working with Special Educational Needs
  • Have a DBS on the update service or able to apply for one through Career Teachers
  • Be flexible to different needs
  • Be enthusiastic and a positive role model for students
