Role: Assistant SENCO

Location: Salford

Career Teachers are currently looking for an assistant SENCO to work a secondary academy in Salford. The role is due to begin in September 2022 and is offered on a full-time, ongoing basis.

The position is a diverse and varied one with no two days being the same. You will be working alongside the SENCO in supporting pupils at the school with EHCP's. The ideal candidate may have previously worked as a SENCO or assistant SENCO or by a teaching assistant/ HLTA with considerable experience of working with pupils at secondary level with SEND.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the SENCO in establishing best practice for inclusion across the school
  • Distribute SEN register and EHCP's
  • Request information on SEN students and update information
  • Organise EHCP review meetings
  • Develop & implement individual EHCP's and student profiles
  • Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals


  • Ideally HLTA/level 3 qualified or above
