Career Teachers are currently looking for Learning Support Assistants and Cover Supervisors to work at Secondary and SEN schools in Leeds from September. 2021
This is a good opportunity to experience different school settings - as such, we are looking for teaching assistants and cover supervisors who are happy going into different schools in a given week - after all, variety is the spice of life! However, we can offer the possibility of long term roles for staff who can make a good impact on shorter term or daily assignments.
You will be required to work with children within secondary and specialist schools working with students with and without additional needs and supporting them to access the curriculum alongside their peers.
You may be required to work in small groups (roughly numbers of eight to ten children) and on occasion working 1:1 with a child. If you are cover supervising, you may be in charge of around 30 kids.
Ideally you will have experience of working with children in an SEN or secondary school environment, and be available to work for at least a couple of days a week - full time if possible. You must love working with children, and have a profound understanding of the various difficulties children can face on a daily basis and how their additional needs impact on their learning.
You must be a confident, friendly, and flexible person who has excellent behaviour management skills, as well as a good knowledge of the National Curriculum. You would be at a distinct advantage if you have experience in supporting children with challenging behaviour.
If you are interested in a role that will provide you with valuable primary experience to forward your career, I would be interested in receving your application immediately.
At Career Teachers we are fully compliant with Agency Worker Regulations, ensuring you receive equal treatment for pay and conditions after a 12 week qualifying period. Please ask for further details.
All quoted rates are inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay.
