We are looking for someone committed join our dedicated team of Cover Supervisor staff, starting immediately, or in September 2020. You need to be available at very short notice for deployment within secondary schools in Leeds. We can accommodate both full time, or ad-hoc work that fits in around other life commitments.
As a cover supervisor, you will be expected to oversee the supervision of whole classes when their usual teacher is absent. Their usual teacher would set the work, and it would be your job to ensure that the students are completing that work to an acceptable standard. The lessons can be in any subject, and you might find that on a given day you are covering multiple subjects.
You must be able to quickly build rapport with children from a range of backgrounds and ability levels and deliver a stimulating learning environment. Good communication and listening skills are a must, as is the ability to be respectful towards students and other staff in school. You should work to help maintain confidentially at all times.
The minimum qualifications needed to be a cover supervisor are pass grades at GCSE in English and Maths. You'll ideally have some previous experience in a classroom, however, if you are a graduate with little to no experience, but feel you will have passion for working with children, getting the best out of them and driving results, I would like to hear from you.
