We are recruiting for a number of Cover Supervisors to come and work with us to work in schools in Leeds starting immediately. Ideally you would be interested in working on a day to day supply and even a longer term basis. We are keenly looking to add quality cover supervisors to our supply bank due to unprecedented demand.
Your remit would be to attend schools at relatively short notice, and cover lessons whilst the usual teacher for that class is absent. You will always have work fully set and planned ready for your arrival, so you just need to oversee the students doing to work and keep on top of behaviour through use of the school's behaviour policy.
Experience is always good to have, but it's you passion for working with children that would make you excel in this type of role. Good organisational and communication skills will be essential as will the ability to forge good relationships with everyone - if you can build great relationships with both staff and pupils at the school's you are working at, this will enable you to do your job to the standard you need to.
Your work in secondary schools with us will certainly give you valuable experience and build your confidence working with students - this is something especially helpful if you plan to apply for your PGCE, and would value the experience. We have a good knowledge of local schools and this knowledge can be used to your benefit as you will be working in schools that suit you. It's through working in different schools that you will be able to develop develop your own teaching style and techniques within the classroom.
