Career Teachers has partnered with a welcoming and supportive Special Needs school in Leeds to recruit a confident and motivated Teaching assistant for a placement starting after the October half-term and running for the rest of the academic year, with the potential to turn into a permanent contract with the school.

Key Details:

  • Hours:08:30 am-15:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
  • Duration:The rest of the academic year at least.

Responsibilities:

As a Special Needs TA, your role will include:

  • assisting teachers in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that students receive appropriate support and guidance tailored to their unique needs.
  • working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional help as needed.
  • supervising students during lessons, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.
  • preparing and organising teaching materials and resources under the guidance of the teacher.
  • assisting in the assessment of student's progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
  • implementing the school's behaviour management policies, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • supporting teachers in managing classroom behaviour and resolving conflicts, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • collaborating effectively with teachers, other teaching assistants, and school staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
