  • You would need the relevant qualifications for the role applied for: as a Primary Teacher you would need to hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and to be a Teaching Assistant (TA) you would need an L2/L3 qualification as a TA.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a proven track record of improving pupils’ outcomes.
  • Sound knowledge of a variety of teaching methods and the ability to design lessons.
  • The ability to communicate with and inspire children of all abilities.
  • The ability to hold a child’s interest and encourage them to be excited about learning. 
  • The ability to monitor a pupil’s response to learning activities and modify or adapt the activities to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
  • A dedication to creating the best conditions and environment for learning.
  • A great team player.
  • Experience in delivering literacy and numeracy sessions.
  • Have a current DBS or be willing to complete a new one.
  • Be a warm and caring individual focused on raising achievement levels.
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative presentation.
  • The ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding. 
  • Able to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team.
  • Demonstrable commitment to equal opportunities.

  • Staying up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
  • The ability to use a computer and the primary office software packages competently, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
